The Organizing Authority for the majority of regattas held on the Sheboygan Lakefront is our partner, Sail Sheboygan. Formed in 2004 to promote national and international sailing competition, Sail Sheboygan provides professional quality in organizing and managing fleet and match racing events. The impeccable quality of Sail Sheboygan’s lakefront facilities and boats is now known as some of the best in the world by sailors across the globe. Sail Sheboygan prides itself in maintaining its fleet to world-class standards, meaning the sport’s best match racers can come to compete at the highest level.
Sail Sheboygan’s achievements are numerous for hosting both match and fleet racing events, but their largest impact has been in the sport of women’s match racing. They provided the fleet for the London 2012 Olympic Games for women’s match racing, which made Sheboygan a training ground for the top teams from around the world in the years leading up to the Games. Since their inception, Sail Sheboygan has become a popular and premier destination for large events, including the Lightning Class North American Championships ('05 and '14 with Fleet #187), Women's International Match Racing (WIM) Series events, Blind/Visually Impaired World Championships (Match and Fleet) and more. They continued to expand their expertise by hosting US Sailing's Team Racing Championship in 2016, the Para World Sailing Championships in 2018, and are looking to carry on their tradition by hosting a wide variety of top-tier events in the years to come.
MISSION
It is the mission of the US Sailing Center of Sheboygan to develop abilities in sailing and seamanship in individuals to the extent of their capacity. We believe that regardless of age, income, ability, or disability those who come to understand the fundamentals of sail trim, teamwork, and seamanship understand more about themselves, their fellows, and their world.

Volunteer Opportunities
US Sailing Center – Sheboygan is an all volunteer organization and is always looking for new talent to join the team. With an extremely aggressive schedule of training and competition, there are many opportunities to be involved.
If your interest is race management or officiating, USSC-S has many training and practice opportunities for race officers, race support team members, judges, and umpires. In addition to the on-the-water operations, pulling off every event requires a small army of behind the scenes, dedicated volunteers. Help is needed in areas ranging from registration to press and media support to web site support.
Whether on-the-water or shore side, all of our volunteers enjoy being part of one of the few US Sailing Centers in the country and take pride in being part of the team that brings some of the best national and international competitive sailing to the midwest.
